In order to make sure that your WebQuest stays aligned with your unit, you will need to copy and paste 3 things from your Stages 1 and 2 from Dr. Grace's wiki onto this page. (This will also help Dr. Theresa give you better feedback on your Intro, Task, and Conclusion.) Then you will write your first drafts of your Introduction and Conclusion.

Introduction

The crusades, one of the greatest clashes of culture throughout history. This is a time of war when Europe and the Middle East were in almost constant conflict for 400 years. The cultures and religions clashed and caused many battles to take place over a small section of land and especially for the city of Jerusalem. The stories of the people that lived through this time are varied and come from many different perspectives. What will happen here is a description of creating a class lesson based on this page for your students to learn and create their own story through this time. What would it be like to actually live in this time, that is where this site will take you
In the about section is the information you can use to create a class lesson and project. In the Contact section is contact information and our conclusion and links.

Task

It is the time of first Crusade the Christian armies of Europe march to the Holy land to reclaim Jerusalem from its Muslim occupants. Many articles of information have survived from this time from different people on both sides. The British Museum is looking for a creative way to tell some of the stories and are looking for narrated stories of events in the time. As students you will get a chance to make such stories that are original, but also historically accurate to be submitted and possibly added to the Museums exhibit. Create a Digital story from a Crusader and Muslim perspective about the First Crusade, include historic facts in your stories. You are to take on two separate roles one of a crusader who you may create at any rank knight, squire or whatever else. The second a Muslim person they can be a soldier, merchant or whatever role you wish. Create a narration of each of their stories using a recording of your voice. Use either iMove or keynote to create the presentation, it will not be a movie of you reading, but a slide show of pictures that show events or related things to your story. Your voice will tell the story as the images change and thus make it into a frame by frame movie of sorts.

Conclusion

The bloody conflict of crusade over, but did the conflict ever become resolved or is it still alive today just under the surface of society. You stories will be tld to remind everyone of the time in history and how lives can be forever changed during war. Bringing all this to a close learning about the crusades can help you understand about many modern conflicts due to culture and religion. They also will get a chance to experiment with technology and create their own digital story. The story also lets you become creative and learn how to see things from both perspectives. This should help you grow in what they know about history and how to interact in the world around them. The Crusades were never truly resolved and their affects can be seen today with international relations and so it is important it is taught to our students. You now have the knowledge to work on changing the world and learn from history to prevent us from repeating the past.
